Walk and Talk Support Sessions ~ In and around the Greenwich Park area
Hi, my name is Beverley, I'm a qualified and experienced integrative psychotherapist counsellor (MBACP, PGDip in Psychotherapy).
'The first step is usually the hardest step to take'
The unknown can be a very scary place, so it's not surprising that many people, whether this is your first time in therapy or not, find making the initial contact a very daunting thought. To help make this process a little less scary, I would like to offer you a free 30 minute introductory consultation session where you can ask any questions and also take advantage of the opportunity for us to be introduced.
'One size does NOT fit all... You are unique'
As an integrative therapist I'm able to draw upon the different approaches to most suit your individual needs throughout your therapeutic process.
Attending therapy can be an extremely useful tool in helping you to become aware and work through any current or historic issues in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment.
There's an endless list of why people are in therapy ~ listed below are just a few reasons:
-
Abuse
-
Childhood or historic trauma
-
Problems with relationships
-
Anxiety or social anxiety
-
Negative or harmful thoughts
-
Isolation
-
Low self-esteem
-
Feeling over-whelming
-
Changes in your life
We can explore any issues/material you bring into session and work on how you can improve and move on from your current position/situation. There's no set amount of sessions. Together, we will work around your needs, whether it's long or short term therapy. I also offer 'top up' sessions for ex-clients on a month by month basis.
'I learn, I change, I grow'...
Or put another way ~ Awareness, Acceptance and Moving on. Very powerful words with a true message for almost everyone. The first stage is becoming aware of what or who may be having a negative impact on your life. The second stage, acceptance. This can be the most difficult and time consuming stage, especially when it relates to life-long beliefs about ourselves or others. The final stage is where you learn you can let go, change and move on from whatever was holding you back from living your life before therapy.
I am committed to my continuous professional development which allows me to grow in my professional and personal life. By regularly attending relevant talks and enrolling on therapeutic courses, I am able to keep up-to-date within my fields, ensuring my clients receive the best professional service I can offer them.
I offer the following therapy sessions, designed to cater for the modern pace of life.
1: Due to modern technology (Skype™), though I am based in London, I am able to work with clients from most locations. Limitations occur due to time zones and language barriers (English speaking only). * I would not suggest online therapy to anyone suffering from profound mental health issues or anyone who is suicidal. If you require immediate help, please contact your GP or Mental Health Team ASAP.
2: Walk and Talk supportive sessions. These sessions take place around Greenwich Park, London. Where you have the opportunity to receive supportive help whilst walking at a gentle pace around the open park.
All of the above are confidential, non-judgemental and tailored for your individual needs.
I hope my web-site answers any questions you may have regarding therapy or about how I work. I am alway open to suggestions on how to improve this site for the benefit of those who visit it ~ please see the contact page.
* I work within the BACP Ethical Framework guidelines (www.bacp.co.uk)
